Liam's Pictoral History

< 1981/1982
Pictured overlooking what is to become the Barrington Condominiums (with a future Bird Crescent in the background), Bill de Silva stands on top of the Thistle Heights Shopping Centre overlooking construction.

During this boom period, LIAM also built the apartments on Stroud Bay - providing much needed housing for new workers streaming into Fort McMurray.

1982 >
LIAM's first office was located in the space now occupied by Young Chow restaurant. The office was opened with two employees and one table to lay plans on - and no office furniture! Growing quickly, LIAM relocated offices to Macalpine Crescent which is pictured at right in 1982.

After development of the Westwood Plaza, Coco's Restaurant and the opening of Uncle Bill's Convenience Store (named after Bill de Silva himself), LIAM's offices relocated to Westwood Plaza on Signal Road and remained a tenant for 17 years! Today, LIAM can be found in River Pointe Shops at 36 Riedel Street, Fort McMruray.

< 1983/1984
Grayling Terrace is pictured under construction. LIAM was contracted by Northward Developments to construct fifty semi-detached homes for employee housing.
